You are looking for a nice place to enjoy a drink and get in the right mood for your night out in Lausanne? Check out our favourite bars!
1. Brasserie du Château
The biggest attraction and unique feature of this place is the home-made beer, produced freshly every day in the in-house brewery. You are not a beer drinker? No problem, amongst the various long drinks, cocktails, shots and wines you will definitely find what you are looking for!
So enjoy yourself under the ocean of multi-coloured lampions in the first floor, where the coolest indie/rock´n´roll/triphop/folk music is played or have a seat in the cosy “café” downstairs. Fortified by one of the delicious self-made pizzas you can then get your clubbing night started – or just stay and test out all 7 sorts of beer!
Brasserie du Château: a must among Lausanne´s bars – (not) only for beer connoisseurs!
Sun, Mon: 5 p.m.- 2 a.m./ Tue, Wed, Thurs: 5 p.m. – 3 a.m./ Fri, Sat: 5 p.m. – 4 a.m.
5.30 p.m. – 7 p.m. (big beer for the price of a small one)
2. The Great Escape
One aspect which makes this location one of our favourites especially in summer is its biiiig outside terrace. There´s nothing like having a cold drink while enjoying the sunshine!
If it gets chilly in the evening, make yourself comfortable in the cosy, rustic inside. The bar also shows football games of all important leagues. Beer, spirits and non-alcoholic drinks are offered in a wide selection and the Great is especially famous for offering “the best hamburgers in town”.
3. Taco´s Bar
We recommend you to choose the “Taco´s Bar” amongst the many different bars situated in this area of the city! What makes it special: its delicious Tex-Mex cuisine, several pool tables and last but not least its great choice of fine spirits, for example seven different sorts of Tequila, all aged in oak barrels. You like rock and blues music, too? Then off to the saloon, er the Taco´s Bar of course! Yeehaw!
You have had enough Tequila and are in the mood now for a British pub-style bar? No problem, only a 2- minutes walk away from the Taco´s Bar you find the “Kingsize Pub”.
Like the name suggests already, this is a huuuge place where you can go to with a big group of people – you should not be there too late on the weekend though! During the daytime you can enjoy different bakery products and sandwiches with original Italian coffee or locally-produced tea. If you make it there at 8 p.m. you can see the unique “Dueling Pianos” (when two pianists battle it out to play requests on baby grands) while drinking your pint of Guiness. Well then: Cheers!
Mon,Tues: 4 p.m. – 1 a.m./ Wed, Thurs, Sun: 11 a.m. – 1 a.m., Fri, Sat: 11 a.m. – 2 a.m.
